狼友社区 (BenU) Professor Wilson Chen, PhD, and co-author Maggie Morris Davis, PhD, have been awarded the 2025 David D. Anderson Award for Outstanding Essay in Midwestern Literary Studies by the Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature聽(SSML).聽
Their essay, 鈥,鈥 was recognized as the top scholarly聽essay聽in the field this year. The award includes a $1,000 prize and an invitation for Dr. Chen聽and Dr. Morris Davis聽to deliver a plenary talk at the Society鈥檚 annual conference聽at the Kellogg Center of聽Michigan State University.
“It’s such an honor to be recognized by this community of scholars that I have so much respect for,” said Dr. Chen. “I also think it’s incredibly important to study literature produced here in the U.S. Midwest, and I’m thrilled to help shine a light on the work of Minnesota writer Meridel Le Sueur.”
